Terra Alliance announces record-breaking year and continued global expansion

Quercus International is the exclusive UK member firm of the Terra Alliance International M&A network.   The Alliance has announced a record-breaking 2024 and continued global expansion. Over the year, its member firms closed 161 transactions with a total deal value of US$44.7 billion. This outstanding performance, achieved despite global economic headwinds, underscores the resilience of member firms and their ability to deliver successful transactions for their clients.

Over the five years to December 2024, member firms closed 623 transactions, representing a total deal value of US$196.6 billion.

In 2024, Terra Alliance further expanded its global reach by welcoming BR Advisory Partners Participações S.A. in Brazil and Centrum Capital Limited in India. With these additions, the Alliance now comprises 15 firms, offering comprehensive investment banking coverage worldwide.

Terra Alliance International M&A network announces record growth in deal volume and values

Quercus International is the exclusive UK member firm of the Terra Alliance International M&A network and in 2023 member firms completed 97 transactions, a 10% increase on the previous year. Deal value 2023  also increased, by over 40%, to $18 billion.  The chart below shows that active sectors over the past 12 months include Industrial, Consumer, Energy (including waste) and Technology.

For the five years to December 2023, member firms completed 461 transactions with a combined deal value of more than US$126 billion.

Terra Alliance International M&A Network announces 88 deals in 2022 valued at $13.1bn

As  Terra Alliance celebrates its 20th year, Quercus is pleased to announce that member firms completed 88 transactions with a combined deal value of more than US$13 billion in 2022. For the five years to December 2022, member firms completed 459 transactions with a combined deal value of more than US$115 billion. Over half of last year's deals were in the Consumer, Industrial and Technology sectors.

Terra Alliance celebrates 20 years of cross-border deal-making

The Terra Alliance held its 40th international M&A conference last week in Chicago, hosted by North American member firm, Origin Merchant Partners. The meeting marked the 20th anniversary of the Alliance which was originally formed in Europe in 2002.

Over the course of two days over 30 delegates, representing 13 member firms, dived into global economic and commercial trends and explored the impact on local markets.  Of most significance were the discussions about cross-border M&A opportunities and how the Alliance’s reach could most effectively support each other.

The network delivers consistently high levels of cooperation and over the past five years member firms have completed 515 transactions with a combined value of $112 billion.

The next Terra Alliance conference will be hosted by Italian member firm, Banca Sella Group, in Milan in Spring 2023.  Banca Sella is one of Italy’s largest banks.

Terra Alliance announces new member firm in Canada

The Terra Alliance held its latest bi-annual international corporate finance meeting in New York last week hosted by the American consumer products and retail specialist member firm, Consensus (www.consensusadvisors.com).   The meeting represents the Terra Alliance’s 36th international corporate finance meeting following the most recent gathering in Madrid in April 2019.

Representatives of the Terra Alliance’s 16 member firms came together to discuss current and future opportunities for cross-border M&A and capital raisings. The member firms reported strong activity so far in 2019 as well as continued growth in cross-border deals involving members.

This year’s meeting was preceded by the 9th Annual Consensus Great Brands Show (www.greatbrandsshow.com) at the NY TimesCenter in Times Square, New York City.  This was the first time members of the Terra Alliance participated in The Great Brands Show, which featured 33 fast-growing consumer brands presenting and exhibiting to an audience of financial entities representing trillions of dollars of capital, major retailers and other significant consumer industry participants.

During the Terra Alliance meeting, it was announced that Origin Merchant Partners of Toronto, Canada would join The Terra Alliance with immediate effect.  Origin Merchant Partners is Canada’s largest independent investment bank.  They provide advisory services for mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, recapitalization and restructuring as well as real estate investment and advisory in Canada.

The next Terra Alliance meeting will be held in the Spring of 2020 and will be hosted by member firm Raiffeisen Bank International, which is headquartered in Vienna, Austria with offices throughout Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine.

Terra Alliance holds 35th international M&A conference in Madrid

The Terra Alliance held its 35th international M&A conference on the 25thand 26thof April in Madrid, hosted by the Spanish member firm, Sabadell Corporate Finance. Over 30 delegates, representing 16 member firms from Africa, the Americas, Asia, Australia, and Europe, benefitted from sharing cross-border M&A opportunities, local market insight and emerging global sector trends.

The Madrid conference comes after a remarkably successful year of trading in 2018, which saw member firms complete over 100 transactions with a combined value of more than US$11 billion, a 64% year-on-year increase.
