Andrew co-founded Quercus in 2013. He is a highly experienced dealmaker with 28 years of mid-market Corporate Finance experience. He advises clients in a variety of sectors and is a sell-side specialist with significant buy-side and capital raising expertise.

Andrew has completed over 100 domestic and cross-border transactions involving counterparties from the USA, Asia and mainland Europe. Started his career in the Corporate Finance team at KPMG and eventually led the firm’s mid-market M&A business across London.

Andrew graduated with a First-Class degree in Economics from The University of Surrey and is a Chartered Accountant.

Amanda has over 25 years of Corporate Finance experience and co-founded Quercus in 2013. She has completed over 80 transactions across a range of sectors and has a particular focus on software and technology.

Prior to Quercus Amanda spent 20 years at KPMG, in Manchester, London, Gatwick and Reading, latterly leading KPMG’s Corporate Finance business across the Thames Valley.

Amanda has a First Class Degree in Accountancy and Law from the University of Manchester and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG. She is also a member of the Securities Institute.

Dane has over 20 years’ experience as a Corporate Finance adviser and entrepreneur.

In the M&A arena, he has advised on a large number of consultancy and B2B transactions including the Deloitte restructuring partners on their sale to Teneo (backed by CVC), GCP’s investment in DMW and BDC investing in LOC. Dane is also highly experienced in advising clients in the building construction and infrastructure sectors. Dane is a former senior KPMG M&A Partner where he was responsible for Business Services sector coverage nationally.

Dane is a qualified lawyer and outside of Quercus chairs a number of businesses within the wider built environment and business services sector which brings a unique operator / investor / industry perspective to his advisory work with Quercus.

Michael is a highly experienced dealmaker with over 20 years M&A, senior finance and strategy experience within the industrial sector.

He has extensive cross border experience and has completed transactions in the UK, North America, Europe, Russia and China. Clients have included corporates, private equity houses and owner-managed businesses.

Michael started his career at KPMG, and he rose to co-lead their Diversified Industrials M&A team in London. In 2016, Michael joined Smiths Group Plc as M&A Director and played a major role in implementing group strategy. Prior to joining Quercus, Michael was Finance Director (Commercial and Sales) of McLaren Automotive.

Michael holds an Executive MBA from the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, the Securities Institute Diploma and a BA (Hons) in Industrial Economics from the University of Nottingham. He has successfully completed the Advanced Corporate Finance programme at London Business School as well as the Finance and Strategy programmes for senior management at UCLA.

Nick co-founded Quercus in 2013 and is the firm’s Chairman.

Nick was a founding member of KPMG’s Corporate Finance business and over the past 35 years has completed over 130 M&A transactions including business sales, acquisitions, and fund raisings. Outside of Quercus, Nick holds a number of senior non-executive and advisory roles across a range of sectors and businesses.

Nick holds a degree in Economics from Warwick University and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG.

Mark has 32 years of M&A experience and has completed over 75 transactions in the Circular Economy. 

Having trained as a chartered accountant with Deloitte, Mark moved into its Corporate Finance Advisory team, where he gained extensive experience. Spent four years at 3i managing a diverse portfolio of investments and making new investments in a variety of management buyouts, buy-ins and growth capital opportunities. He then spent six years in a company that is now part of Veolia, in a variety of commercial roles and was latterly responsible for corporate development including acquisitions and major capital projects.

In 1999 Mark joined KPMG Corporate Finance where he advised on disposals for large corporates, entrepreneurs, private equity investors and Government bodies. He has also advised a number of large corporates on acquisitions. He later joined the Power and Utilities team at EY Corporate Finance in 2011 where he continued to focus on the disposal of businesses.

Jim is an experienced dealmaker with 25 years of M&A and advisory experience. Has a track record of success supporting entrepreneurs, management teams, private equity houses and corporates and has significant experience in the business services sector.

Prior to Quercus, Jim co-founded and ran his own advisory boutique for six years.

Jim qualified as a Chartered Accountant with EY and subsequently worked for KPMG in their Transaction Services team, where he delivered international due diligence assignments across a range of industries. He also spent three years in HSBC Equity Capital Markets team, working on acquisitions and fund raisings for listed clients.

Tully has over two decades of M&A and Corporate Finance experience and has executed transaction in the UK, Europe and the US. His clients include corporates, institutional investors and owner-managed businesses.

Tully started his career at Citigroup in the US before moving to KPMG in London. In 2009 he moved to the Cayman Islands to build up and lead KPMG’s Corporate Finance team. In 2016, Tully joined DC Thompson where he headed up DCT Ventures and advised on various investments, acquisitions and divestments, and managed a portfolio of minority investments. Most recently, Tully was at ICECAPITAL where he advised both corporates and institutional investors on European transactions in the TMT and renewable energy sectors.

Tully holds an MBA from ASU’s Thunderbird School of International Management, a BA from Thunderbird School of Global Management and the Corporate Finance certificate from the Securities Institute.

Mark over the past 30 years, has specialised in M&A and Corporate Finance with a particular focus on Food & Food Ingredients.

Prior to Quercus, Mark held a number of senior Corporate Development roles with multinational and private equity backed companies including Tate & Lyle, Associated British Foods, Kellogg's Europe, Tomkins North America and Oxford Aviation.

Mark is highly experienced on the international stage having completed deals in North America, Brazil and China and has been responsible for all elements of transactions from expansion strategy through to deal completion.

Paul joined Quercus in 2024, having run a successful Corporate Finance business for 18 years. He has more than 25 years’ experience and a particular specialism in deal origination.

Paul has originated and executed more than 120 UK and international transactions in Europe, APAC and the Americas across many sectors. Paul has a particular specialism in Professional and Business Services, and broad experience across many other sectors. Paul started his career at Deloitte in Financial Services and was previously a partner in an M&A boutique.

Paul graduated in Economics and Geography from the University of Exeter, studied at Lund University in Sweden and is a Chartered Accountant.

Johanne has completed more than 40 M&A, equity and debt capital markets and strategic advisory projects, across various sectors and geographies. She has experience of working with private companies, public corporates, private equity houses, fund managers and governmental agencies, both in the UK and internationally.

Johanne has a strong understanding and insight into the global equity and debt capital markets, and she is able to provide practical applications of the rules and regulations of the UK equity markets, including the Listing Rules, AIM Rules and The City Code on Takeovers and Mergers.

Johanne holds an MSc in Shipping, Trade and Finance from City University Business School and a BSc (Hons) in Business Management Studies from The University of Salford. She is also CIMA Adv Dip MA, and an Affiliate of CIMA.

Neil specialises in M&A advisory work for a range of clients including owner managers and institutional investors and has significant experience in the Circular Economy sector.

Neil is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds a First-Class Honours degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of the West of England in Bristol.
